The term "Web 2.0" describes a second-generation of the World Wide Web where interaction and collaboration are able to take place. In an educational setting, using tools with Web 2.0 capabilities allows teachers and students to share ideas and resources, engage in meaningful dialog, conduct research, and generate collaborative outcomes through the use of the Internet.
